Shivakar is a storyteller, always restless with ideas, waiting for an opportunity to share his stories and get things done. He chipped away his time being an art director in advertising agencies, which served as his foundation to approach ideas and present them in interesting ways. Then he moved on to assist acclaimed South Indian director Vishnu Vardhan and finished his last movie as an associate director. Since then he has been directing his own short films, documentary and ad films successfully.

His work, 'Yamaraj - Drink and get driven' for McCann Bangalore, won a lot of acclaim during its release. The work went viral, received a lot of media coverage, and successfully bagged the FAB London award in the Guerrilla Marketing category.

Shivakar is woking on his script for a full length feature and he is always up for a collaboration.
